Experience a one-of-a-kind guided Yukon adventure with the wild as your playground and a converted American school bus as your basecamp.

Ready to step into the raw beauty of the Yukon? Over five days we’ll roam through Kluane National Park — one of Canada’s most remote and untamed regions — tackling off-grid trails, alpine lakes, and vast mountain valleys.

This isn’t a cushy van trip or a packaged tour. It’s wilderness, straight up. Think wild camping in places no one else can reach, with the comfort of real beds inside our rugged Squatch Bus when the day is done. A wood stove, hearty meals, and a roof over your head — nothing fancy, just everything you need to thrive out here.

By day, we’ll hike up to 25 km with elevation gains of 1500 m, pushing limits and earning views from ridgelines to glacial valleys and high alpine lookouts. There’s time to cool off in icy lakes, breathe the silence of the North, and gather around a fire under the midnight sun. For those keen, there’s even the chance to clip into Yukon granite for a raw rock-climbing session.

The Squatch Bus keeps us nimble — we carry our shelter and supplies wherever the trail leads, parking up in wild spots under open skies. No crowds. No barriers. Just you, your boots, and the wild heart of Kluane.

Craving a true wilderness road trip? This is Yukon, untamed.

Fitness level - what to expect?

This trip is designed for active adventurers who love the outdoors and aren’t afraid to break a sweat. You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you should feel comfortable spending full days outside, hiking on uneven terrain, and gaining elevation.

We’ll tackle daily hikes ranging from 8 to 25 km, with up to 1,500 meters of elevation gain. Trails will take us through rugged landscapes, with some steep sections, rocky footing, and even a bit of light scrambling. You’ll also get a taste of vertical movement with an intro to rock climbing session—no experience needed, just a willingness to try something new.

If you’ve got a sense of adventure, an appreciation for big views and wild places, and the energy to embrace full days in nature (and maybe get a little dirty along the way), you’ll feel right at home.

Day 1: The Adventure Begins!

We’ll pick you up at 8:30 AM in Whitehorse, where you’ll have a chance to grab any last-minute supplies before we hit the road. Once we're stocked up, we’ll make our way to Haines Junction, stopping at the visitor center for a quick info session about the area. After that, we’ll continue on to Kluane Lake, where we’ll set up camp right by the water. You can enjoy slacklining, try some packrafting, or just kick back and relax in this beautiful spot. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner and talk about the exciting hikes and adventures coming up!

Day 2 to 4: Immersed in Nature’s Beauty

Each day begins with a satisfying breakfast to fuel up, followed by packing up camp as we head toward the trailhead. Over the next three days, we’ll immerse ourselves in the heart of the wilderness, choosing our hikes as a group each evening based on our energy, fitness levels, and the weather forecast. Your guide will ensure that the hikes are tailored to match the group’s pace and mood, balancing challenge with safety, so everyone feels empowered and engaged.

Some of the stunning hikes we may choose together include:

  • King’s Throne
  • Bullion Plateau
  • Mount Decoeli
  • Sheep Mountain

Each evening, as a group, we’ll discuss which hike feels best based on our collective energy levels and weather conditions. Whether it’s tackling a tough peak like Mount Decoeli or a more gradual ascent up Bullion Plateau with views over the valley where the Kaskawulsh glacier ends, the goal is to create a journey that suits everyone’s pace, while still offering stunning views and a sense of accomplishment.

By the end of Day 4, you’ll have explored some of the most iconic landscapes in the region, strengthening both body and mind with every step, and forming unforgettable memories with your fellow adventurers.

Day 5: A Final Taste of Adventure

On our final morning, we’ll take our time to enjoy the last moments of this incredible adventure. After packing up camp, we’ll gather by the lake for a peaceful sunrise — sip your coffee, take in the stillness, or even jump in for a refreshing swim. Once we’ve packed up and said our goodbyes to the wilderness, we’ll begin our journey back to Whitehorse.

Along the way, we’ll decide together as a group what our final stop will be — one last shared adventure before heading back to town. We’ll arrive in Whitehorse by late afternoon, and we’ll make sure to get you safely to your chosen drop-off point.
